REV TO THE LIMIT
You can't accuse McLaren of resting on their laurels. They're at it again with a brand new model, the third car in McLaren's growing lineup, the 650S. The 650S is going to debut at 2014 Geneva Motor Show early next month.
McLaren has shared a small snippet above of the car, just enough to get us excited but not enough to give us details of what the thing will look like. According to the British brand, the 650S "takes learnings from both the 12C as well as the sell-out McLaren P1 and will be positioned between the two on McLaren Automotive’s supercar grid". We've asked around and checked out the internet and what we're hearing is that the name refers to the car's output at 650PS or 641hp, up from the 12C's 616hp. The engine is based on the same 3.8-liter Twin Turbo V8 engine powering both the P1 and 12C. There is little doubt that McLaren is chasing Ferrari. The 650S is McLaren's answer to the Ferrari 458 Speciale and the fourth car in the lineup, the entry level car is also under development. The entry level car is aimed at the 911 Turbo and is known as the P13.
