New Details Revealed on the New Porsche 911 GT3 RS & Some Thrashing of The 911 GT3 While We Wait.2/13/2014 Porsche Is Getting Closer to Releasing Its Ultimate 911.While we expect the new 911 GT3 RS to make its debut sometime in the latter half of 2014, it is hard not to get excited early. Most pundits agree the the current Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the best drivers cars Porsche (or anybody else for that matter) has ever created. How can't we get excited by a car that Porsche is making that tops the best drivers car ever. Today, details about 2015 911 GT3 RS have emerged thanks to AutoExpress. Autorcar says that testing has begun with Porsche driver Walter Rohrl at Nurburgring. Added aerodynamic aids like a whole new aero kit mean that downforce could be up be around 50 per cent when compared to the ‘regular’ 991 GT3. The GT3 RS is also expected to have a wider track than the normal GT3 and will probably sit a little lower too, giving it an altogether more aggressive look. Elsewhere, Porsche will save weight wherever it can such as through the fitment of lightweight, thinner glass, a stripped out interior and featherweight body panels. Just like the 991 GT3, the new RS will only be available with a PDK transmission. Under the hood, the latest Porsche 911 GT3 RS will see a slight power increase from the standard car pushing the total figure towards the 500 hp mark. It will also feature different gear rations and should be able to sprint to 60mph in 3.5 seconds. We're pretty excited over here at RevToTheLimit. Enjoy the "Standard" 911 GT3 while we wait...
